What to Use When Photoshop Would be Overkill…
Photoshop is expensive. It's got a substantial learning curve. It takes time to launch.
And sometimes, all you want to do is crop a damn photo.
A fantastic Photoshop alternative
Luckily, you don't need Photoshop whenever you want to tweak an image for your blog, website, or sending via email.
There's a fantastic online tool called PicMonkey.com that can easily take care of all your basic image-editing needs instead—things like cropping, rotating, and resizing.
Plus, it allows you to go much, much further than basic editing without dealing with a learning curve.
In addition to handling all the basic/standard image editing tasks, it lets you instantly and intuitively...
- add text using cool fonts
- combine your photos into collages
- add overlays to create impressive visuals
- wrap your images in a variety of frames
- blend textures on top of your images' backgrounds
- touch up human faces (airbrush, remove wrinkles, whiten teeth, tint lips)
...and of course, it lets you do much, much more.
Here's a screenshot of me playing around with blending in a space + stars background to a daytime photo of leaves:
What's it cost?
There's a free version that lets you complete the most common image-editing tasks (like cropping and resizing).
There's also a paid, deluxe version (for $4.99/month or $33/year) that's ad-free and that lets you have lots of fun via fancy effects, fonts, overlays, and texture.
Try it out
A number of our clients use PicMonkey and absolutely love it. Our guess is that you will, too.
